He started playing music when he saw how successful the Beatles were, but Alice Cooper soon carved out an image that was all his own. The man is known for his over-the-top wardrobe and spooky stage shows, but the singer born Vincent Furnier had a pretty standard upbringing. Coming from a religious background with a pastor for a father might sound like the beginning of any typical rock 'n' roll rebellion story, but his father was actually a big fan of rock music, and Alice Cooper is dedicated to his Christian faith today. ALICE COOPER PREMIERES OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “THE SOUND OF A”, ANNOUNCES PHYSICAL RELEASE FOR FEBRUARY 23rd, 2018 & RECEIVES SSE SCOTTISH MUSIC AWARD. Get the album "Paranornal": Box Set: 🤍 2CD: 🤍 2LP: 🤍 iTunes: 🤍 Deezer: 🤍 Spotify: 🤍 Today sees the official video premiere for “The Sound Of A”. The song has a special meaning; it is in fact the first song that Alice Cooper wrote entirely on his own back in 1967. The song was forgotten until Dennis Dunaway, the bass player of the original Alice Cooper band, rediscovered it and played it to Alice, after which the two of them updated the song and then recorded it for the “Paranormal” album. With its psychedelic sound, swirling guitars and the mysterious Hammond organ, it is one of the most hypnotic songs on “Paranormal”. “The Sound Of A” is going to be released on February 23rd 2018, only a few days after Alice Cooper´s birthday. In addition to the title track, the single (available as limited edition CD single, 10” white vinyl) includes four previously unreleased live songs recorded in Columbus, OH, on May 6th. Earlier this December, Alice received with the Best International Artist award at the 19th annual SSE Scottish Music Award held in Glasgow which every year raises funds for the Nordoff Robbins Scotland music charity (this year, over £148,000 were collected for the music therapy activities). In July 2017, Alice Cooper released “Paranormal”, his first studio album in six years. Produced by Bob Ezrin, it was immediately saluted as a classic album, strong of the collaboration with iconic guests such as ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, U2’s Larry Mullen and Deep Purple’s Roger Glover. The album charted at #4 in the German and Australian official album charts, #6 in the UK and in Sweden and overall, it reached the highest chart positions for Alice in several decades. Cooper just finished a hugely successful world-wide tour, over 100 shows played on all five continents. Alice reunited with original Alice Cooper band members Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith and Michael Bruce during select shows in USA and UK. The Alice Cooper band split in 1974, after releasing some of the most iconic rock albums of all time. After the band´s split, Alice went on to continued success as a solo artist. Track list CD 1. Alice Cooper, live at Enmore Theatre in Sydney, AU. Recorded September 26, 2011. Alice Cooper brought his renowned stage show to Sydney’s Enmore Theatre. Featuring snakes, decapitations, pyrotechnics, copious amounts of fake blood and all the biggest hits, it’s essential and unforgettable viewing. The original and the best Shock Rocker, Alice Cooper was scaring audiences back when Marilyn Manson was still pulling limbs off his Barbies. A thrilling collision of heavy-riffing rock and ghoulish theatre, his Sydney visit came hot on the heels of his latest album ‘Welcome 2 My Nightmare’ and Moshcam was there to record this
In this exclusive one hour interview, Pastor and Evangelist Greg Laurie sits down with rock legend Alice Cooper. Alice Cooper is widely considered to be the father of "Shock Rock" and has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. While he is known for his music career, most do not know that he is a committed Christian. In this sprawling conversation recorded at, "The Rock" (a Teen Center created and started by Alice), Cooper and Laurie chat about his journey to faith, and how he has used his faith in Jesus Christ to help at-risk young men in his community. Growing up in a Christian home, Cooper always knew he needed Christ. But it took a dramatic turn in a drug-induced haze when he realized he needed to recommit to Jesus Christ or he was finished. The son and grandson of preachers, Cooper knew who Jesus was and knew that Christianity was true, yet he wanted to walk his path—a trail that led him to the heights of stardom, partying, and calling friend some of the biggest names in show business. Then it all changed. His marriage was falling apart and Cooper was in the pits of alcohol and drug use when he decided to quit and get clean. He began going to church and says that it was fear of God that brought him around, that he was terrified of Hell, and it was fear that saved him, but the love of Christ that grew him. The conversation also includes musings by Cooper and Laurie about the so-called “27 Club,” various legends of rock and roll, as well as a discussion about depression, suicide, drugs, alcohol abuse, and the life it leads one to. The conversation in its entirety is a testament to the power of God and His transforming power and forgiveness, if we only accept Him and allow Him to change us for the better. Due to the fact that the recording is owned by a private party, it is unauthorized but not a bootleg. It features Alice Cooper's infamous chicken-throwing performance at the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival festival at Varsity Stadium in Toronto on September 13, 1969 and showcases the early psychedelic music style of Cooper and his band in support of their very first album release, Pretties for You. Although the album was originally released on vinyl in 1982, it has been re-released many times over the years on vinyl, cassette, CD, and digital download by various record labels under different titles, using alternative track titles and track orders. Many of these re-releases additionally include two 1964 studio tracks by Ronnie Hawkins, falsely credited on the album to Alice Cooper. In 1996, Brian Nelson, Alice Cooper's personal assistant, said concerning this releases: "The rights to the recording were sold by Alice's management at the time of the recording to a third party. That party has licensed out the rights to the recording many times to various companies. Alice Cooper do not make a penny from it. My theory is that the two non-Alice songs somehow wound up on the original master tape. The distributors not knowing and not particularly caring, put the album out of the tape as is. When the album was pressed again later by other companies, they didn't bother to check if all the songs were Alice or not. They would have no particular reason to."In 2012 the label Applebush released another version of this concert with the title Nobody Likes Us under the moniker of The Alice Cooper Group. The is the first known CD release to feature the whole concert speed corrected, correct song titles, and chronological track listing. Guitarist Michael Bruce advised how to name and to arrange the titles correctly. The sound quality is also better than on all of the other releases. As a bonus it also contains recordings of a concert at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco on March 30, 1969, but the sound quality of that show is poor.

ORDER THE ALBUM "RISE" HERE: 🤍 GET 'HEROES' HERE: 🤍 “Rise”, the band’s 2nd album, is some of the purest, unapologetic and most enjoyable rock and roll of the year, made by masters of the craft and true fans of the form. Unlike their 2015 debut record, the new album “Rise” consists mainly of original material, written by the band. There are however, in the spirit of the Vampires’ original mission, three covers of songs originally written and recorded by some fellow rockers who died far too young: an intimate and intense version of David Bowie’s “Heroes”, again beautifully performed on record by Johnny Depp; the late Jim Carroll Band’s “People Who Died,” and Johnny Thunder’s “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory,” sung by Joe Perry. lice Cooper (born Vincent Damon Furnier, February 4, 1948) is an American singer, songwriter, and actor whose career spans over 50 years. With a raspy voice and a stage show that features numerous props, including pyrotechnics, guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, reptiles, baby dolls, and dueling swords, Cooper is considered by music journalists and peers to be "The Godfather of Shock Rock". He has drawn equally from horror films, vaudeville, and garage rock to pioneer a macabre and theatrical brand of rock designed to shock audiences. Originating in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1964, "Alice Cooper" was originally a band with roots extending back to a band called The Earwigs 1964, consisting of Furnier on vocals and harmonica, Glen Buxton on lead guitar, and Dennis Dunaway on bass guitar and background vocals. By 1966, Michael Bruce on rhythm guitar joined the three and Neal Smith was added on drums in 1967. The five named the band 'Alice Cooper' and released their debut album in 1969 with limited chart success. The band reached their commercial peak in 1973 with their sixth studio album, Billion Dollar Babies. They broke up in 1975 and Furnier adopted the band's name as both his legal name and his stage name, beginning his solo career with the 1975 concept album Welcome to My Nightmare. Cooper has experimented with a number of musical styles, including art rock, hard rock, heavy metal, new wave, glam metal, and industrial rock. He helped to shape the sound and look of heavy metal, and has been described as the artist who "first introduced horror imagery to rock and roll, and whose stagecraft and showmanship have permanently transformed the genre". He is also known for his wit offstage, with The Rolling Stone Album Guide calling him the world's most "beloved heavy metal entertainer". Away from music, Cooper is a film actor, a golfing celebrity, a restaurateur, and, since 2004, a radio DJ with his classic rock show Nights with Alice Cooper.
