The FamilySearch Wiki is a helpful resource for genealogy researchers of all skill levels. FamilySearch Discovery and Outreach Manager, Raymon Naisbitt, outlines the different helpful functions and information that the Wiki can offer. TRANSCRIPT So many people come into the Family History Library, and they'll say, "My ancestors came from England or Ireland or Scotland." But they don't know about the records that existed, and they don't know how to go about finding their ancestor in the British Isles. The FamilySearch wiki is a great tool that they can use to learn about the records and the time period when their ancestor lived in that area. So the wiki is a place for all users, both advanced, intermediate, and beginners. It can be a little intimidating for beginners. The wiki does have research guides specifically for beginners. So I can type in international how-to guides, and I can pick a country. I can pick a country like England. And I can learn more about how to do research. It's specifically geared towards a beginner. And they'll give me an activity to do, and then I can test my knowledge to see how I did. And they kind of start you little by little in learning how to do research in these areas.
